Engage Delaney has had a few names. What started as Richard M Delaney & Associates has evolved and grown from a firm focussed on sustainability to one focussed on engagement and supporting change. Throughout it all, our values have not changed – we continue to value community, authenticity, quality and collaboration.
Our value of community extends to our staff, clients, training participants and the communities we have the privilege to work with through engagement. When we are part of community we are connected to place and each other.
Valuing authenticity means that we value honesty, showing up as you are and being real, in the conversation. When dialogue and relationships are based on authenticity, we feel that good things can happen, we can get away from polarized thinking and be open to new ideas.
Quality for us is integral to sustainability because it means there are no half-way measures and no shortcuts. We value quality in everything from the communications deliverables we develop to the data analysis and reports we write. Sometimes this means it takes a bit more time, thinking slowly in environments that push us to be fast, but ultimately, we don’t put out products until they achieve our quality standard.
Collaboration – yes on the IAP2 spectrum – but also a key way of looking at relationships and the opportunity to go deeper and explore what might be if we partnered. When we work with clients, we see every project as a collaboration for sustainable change to happen and we value the opportunity to be part of change for the better.
Looking ahead to our 30th anniversary, we want to celebrate engagement in Canada over the last three decades and all those who contribute to strong democratic processes. Each month you can expect our newsletter subscribers to get first access to specials, treats and promotions. It’s important, maybe more than ever, to celebrate the work of engagement and those who do the work of connecting communities to decision makers.
