Q: I have the old (pre-January 2023) Foundations in P2 Certificate (Planning and Techniques); what courses can I take to stay current?

A: You are eligible to take the new IAP2 elective courses that help you excel in your P2 engagement practice. Engage Delaney offers these three courses on our 2025 training schedule. You can find more information on our website here

  • Understanding Conflict in P2 (Level 1) is a six-hour online course that helps you understand and more effectively manage conflict dynamics.
  • Understanding People and Communities (Level 1) is a six-hour online training course that helps you discover and apply deep understanding and insights into the people and communities involved in P2/Engagement.
  • Working with Conflict and High Emotion (Level 3) is a 12-hour online training course that focuses on de-escalating and shifting conflict and high emotion to constructive participation, where forward momentum and resolution are possible.

Also, if you would like to receive the new IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation, you can watch a short IAP2 transitional video and take the Applying Methods course – please get in touch with Brenda for further details.

Q: I am interested in learning more in-depth and new engagement skills and tools. Do you have any courses that would help me and our organization be more effective in delivering our engagements?

A: Engage Delaney has designed three interactive, in-depth courses that will help you and your organization gain deeper knowledge, new skills and techniques, broaden awareness, and bring more confidence to your P2/engagement processes.

For more information, please see our website here for these three great course offerings:

  • Facilitating Engagement – a 12-hour highly interactive course focusing on planning and facilitation best practices.
  • Engagement Surveys – 12-hour in-depth course for professionals who collect information through surveys or polls or those who develop questionnaires in support of online, telephone, or in-person interviews of focus groups.
  • Evaluating Engagement—This nine-hour unique course helps you deepen your knowledge and refine your skills, with a focus on developing meaningful evaluation measures and frameworks for effective engagements.

These courses are offered publicly but are also available as organizational courses for organizations that have 15 or more people interested in the course.
